Steps Pilates Studio operates under the same management as the Steps gym, which I also designed a few years back. Following a successful collaboration with the gym’s owners, they contacted me to design their new studio in Kiryat Hasharon, Israel. The studio’s 100 m2 needed to include an open space for training, a reception area, a dressing room, and a waiting area. To create an intimate, relaxing and serene atmosphere, I chose natural green and wood tones, alongside black elements and touches of gold. The design is minimalistic and creates a sense that the space is larger than it actually is.

While meeting a limited budget, I designed unique elements that provide the studio with an impressive and elegant look. By the entrance, I created a black reception desk with vertical wooden panels peaking from behind. The back wall was painted in a refreshing green color and the metallic studio logo hangs above it. Next to the reception, open shelves display different products for sale, and above the desk, three black pendant lighting fixtures add a sophisticated touch. A bench was placed in the waiting area, and behind it, I created a typographical element with inspirational phrases that resonate with the studio’s values.  The wooden panels are used as a recurring theme throughout the space and were in fact chosen to echo the wall-mounted lighting fixtures, which were chosen at the early stages of the project.

In the open-space training area, eight Pilates Reformer beds were positioned in two parallel lines. One long wall was painted green and across from it is an elongated mirror with a thin black frame. An element that grabs our attention and impacts the vibe of the space greatly, was assembled using mirrors that seem to hover over the wall, hidden ambient lighting, and vertical floor-to-ceiling wooden panels. The entire element enhances the height of the space and adds depth and softness to it. In between, I placed lighting fixtures to create a pleasant rhythm to the wall, which is reflected through the mirror on the opposite side.

The studio floor was covered in cozy hardwood floor panels, and a lowered ceiling was planned to include ambient lighting, in addition to the black track lights. Grey drapes ensure an intimate and soothing atmosphere, and merge well with the grey tone of the wall in the waiting area. At the far end of the studio, another typographical element was created on the wall. It incorporates black texts and titles, as well as the studio’s logo, which stands out thanks to the metallic finish

סטודיו לפילאטיס Steps מבית היוצר של חדר הכושר תחת אותו השם. בעקבות תהליך עבודה מוצלח עם בעלי חדר הכושר, הם פנו אלי בשנית על מנת לעצב את הסטודיו החדש בקרית השרון. 100 המטרים הרבועים של החלל היו צריכים לכלול מרחב לאימונים, עמדת קבלה, תא הלבשה ופינת המתנה. כדי לייצר אווירה אינטימית, נעימה ומרגיעה, בחרתי בגוונים טבעיים של עץ וירוק לצד אלמנטים בשחור ונגיעות מוזהבות. העיצוב מינימליסטי ועדין ומייצר תחושה שהחלל גדול ממידותיו הממשיות.

תוך עמידה בתקציב מוגבל, יצרתי אלמנטים מיוחדים המקנים לסטודיו מראה מרשים ואלגנטי. בכניסה תכננתי עמדת קבלה עם דלפק שחור, שמתוכו מציצים סרגלי עץ המהווים מוטיב עיצובי שחוזר גם בחלל המרכזי. הקיר שמאחורי העמדה נצבע בגוון ירקרק מרענן ומעליו נתלה לוגו הסטודיו שבוצע בחיתוך מתכת. לצד העמדה נמצאים מדפים פתוחים למכירת מוצרים ומעליה תלויים שלושה גופי תאורה מעודנים בשחור. מאחורי ספסל ההמתנה יצרתי אלמנט טיפוגרפי השראתי שמתחבר לערכי הסטודיו. לצידו שני גופי תאורה עם סרגלי עץ, אשר למעשה נבחרו בתחילת העבודה על הפרויקט והיוו השראה לתכנון יתר האלמנטים המרכזיים בסטודיו.

בחלל האימונים מוקמו שמונה מיטות פילאטיס בשתי שורות מקבילות. קיר אורכי אחד נצבע בירוק ועל גבי הקיר שמולו תלויה מראה ארוכה עם מסגרת שחורה דקיקה. אלמנט מרכזי, שמושך מיד את העין ומשפיע באופן ניכר על האווירה בחלל, מורכב ממראות שנתלו במרחק מהקיר ומאחוריהן תאורה היקפית נסתרת וסרגלי עץ אנכיים מרצפה עד תקרה. האלמנט כולו מדגיש את גובה החלל ומוסיף לו רכות ועומק. בין האלמנטים מוקמו גופי תאורה וכך יצרתי מקצב קבוע ונעים לקיר, המשתקף גם דרך המראה ממול.

רצפת הסטודיו חופתה בפרקט חמים ותוכננה הנמכת תקרה עם תאורה היקפית, לצד פסי תאורה שחורים שנתלו לאורך החלל. וילונות אפורים מקנים תחושה אינטימית ונעימה ומתחברים לגוון הקיר האפור של עמדת ההמתנה. בפינת הסטודיו עוצב קיר גרפי נוסף הכולל כתוביות בשחור ואת לוגו הסטודיו, שגם כאן בוצע במתכת אלגנטית בגוון מוזהב.
